Catch Up Funding 2020-21

The government announced Catch Up Premium funding for schools to support children and young people to catch up lost time after school closure,  St Mark's has been allocated £16960. For the majority of our children, due to parents’ phenomenal support, they have engaged well with the teaching and learning provided by the school whilst a small but significant number were unable to engage to a satisfactory degree. This is especially important for the most vulnerable and disadvantaged backgrounds.

At St Mark’s it is our intention to spend this funding on

  • assessments so to identify those at most need
  • whole school subscriptions and access to technology for blended learning, in the classroom and at home, so to bridge the digital divide.
  • Mental health and wellbeing, so to reduce anxiety
  • Tutoring to target extra, specific learning support in Phonics, reading, writing and mathematics.
